For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, - Romans 3:23

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.- Romans 5:8

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. . - John 3:16

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:- 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe b that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. - John 20:30-31

God is love

Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. - 1 John 4:7-8

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today we gather here to reflect on the beautiful truth that God is Love. This message of God's love is the central message of the Bible and the cornerstone of our faith. It is a message that brings us hope and comfort, and reminds us that we are never alone, that we are always loved, and that we are always in the presence of a loving God.

In the book of 1 John 4:8, we read that "God is love". This simple statement reveals to us the nature of God. God is not just a powerful being or a force to be reckoned with. God is love. Love is at the very core of God's being, and everything that God does is motivated by love. This means that God loves us not because of what we do or what we can offer, but simply because of who we are - his beloved children.

The Bible is full of stories that demonstrate God's love for us. We see this love in the story of the prodigal son, where the father welcomes back his wayward son with open arms, despite his disobedience. We see it in the story of the good Samaritan, where a stranger shows compassion and love to a wounded traveler. And we see it most clearly in the story of Jesus Christ, who gave his life for us on the cross, so that we might be saved and have eternal life.

But God's love is not just a past event. It is a present reality that we can experience every day. God's love is there in the sunrise that greets us each morning, in the beauty of the natural world, in the kindness of a stranger, in the laughter of a child, and in the embrace of a loved one. God's love is all around us, if only we have eyes to see it.

My dear brothers and sisters, let us remember that God's love is not just for us. It is for everyone. God's love extends to the whole world, and it is our job as the church to share that love with others. Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus, showing love and compassion to those around us, and sharing the good news of God's love with all who will listen.

In conclusion, let us be assured of this truth - that God is Love. Let us take comfort in the knowledge that we are loved by a God who will never leave us or forsake us. And let us  share the love of God with all those we meet. May God bless you all. Amen.
